THE LIBRARIAN
THE CURSE OF THE JUDAS CHALICE

About the Movie

The world is in danger of being overrun by vampires, and the only person who can prevent it from happening is Flynn Carsen in the third installment of TNT’s hugely successful Librarian franchise, starring Noah Wyle (ER). THE LIBRARIAN: CURSE OF THE JUDAS CHALICE, co-starring Bob Newhart (Elf, The Bob Newhart Show) and Jane Curtin (Our Town, 3rd Rock from the Sun), sends the bookish hero Flynn to New Orleans, where he tries to undo a nefarious vampire plot and rescue a kidnapped professor (Bruce Davison – X-Men, Knight Rider) with the help of a beautiful chanteuse (Stana Katic – Feast of Love).

TNT’s THE LIBRARIAN: CURSE OF THE JUDAS CHALICE will premiere Sunday, Dec. 7, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT), leading up to the launch of LEVERAGE, an exciting, new action-packed series starring Oscar® winner Timothy Hutton, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT). Both projects come to TNT from executive producer Dean Devlin (Independence Day) and his Electric Entertainment.

THE LIBRARIAN: CURSE OF THE JUDAS CHALICE was directed by Jonathan Frakes (Star Trek: The Next Generation), who also directed the second Librarian installment, The Librarian: Return to King Solomon’s Mines. The story opens with the kidnapping of Professor Lazlo (Davison), a brilliant language and history expert at the University of Bucharest. Elderly and using a crutch to walk, he is taken hostage by a group that wants to force him to locate the Judas Chalice. They hope to use the cup – which was made from the 30 pieces of silver Judas received for betraying Jesus – to bring the notorious Prince Vlad Dracul back to life and foist evil on the world.

Meanwhile, Flynn heads to New Orleans for what he hopes will be a vacation. He has been summoned through mysterious dreams by Simone Renoir (Katic), a gorgeous New Orleans jazz club singer. She has made it her mission to keep the location of the Judas Chalice a secret so it won’t fall into the wrong hands. When the secret is accidentally revealed and the cup taken, Flynn and Simone must do everything in their power to prevent Vlad Dracul from casting the entire world into shadow. Helping from the sidelines are Judson (Newhart), the enigmatic and always surprising head of the Library, and Charlene (Curtin), the extremely serious-minded, no-nonsense personnel director.

THE LIBRARIAN: CURSE OF THE JUDAS CHALICE was executive-produced by Electric Entertainment’s Dean Devlin, Kearie Peak and Marc Roskin. Wyle and Electric’s Phil Goldfarb produced the movie, with the company’s Rachel Olschan co-producing. The teleplay is by Marco Schnabel.

LA LINEA
(aka THE LINE)

The story centers around veteran assassin Mark Shields as he tracks down, Pelon, the elusive head of the Salazar Crime Cartel. Through twists of fate, Shields ends up with a local woman, Olivia who is also fighting her own demons for the sake of her daughter. Set in the rich and atmospheric backdrop of Tijuana, Mexico, La Linea (The Line) is full of action, drama and finds its soul in the plight of the characters that inhabit the most dangerous city in North America. It is scheduled for release in Oct. 2008.

Golden Globe winner Bruce Davison, who's very good when he's very bad, goes the villainous route again in the upcoming indie film "La Linea," with Ray Liotta, Andy Garcia and Armand Assante. "I'm a supposedly retired CIA guy who shows up, and mayhem begins to happen," says Davison of the film about an unstable new kingpin of a Tijuana drug cartel targeted by an assassin. "But the movie is full of troublemakers, and the real troublemaker is played by Esai Morales. He's got a great part." Davison says he found working with Andy Garcia the first time a real treat. "He's as good a man as he is an actor, just a great guy. I remember we'd be shooting and he'd call me over to the monitor and say, 'You're not seeing what I can see here from this coverage, come around and look through here' -- which was very generous and very rare. Of course, he's a director too, though this film is directed by James Cott."

BATTLESTAR GALLACTICA

Bruce guest starred in the Feb. 11, 2007 episode entitled "The Woman King" of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA.  Below are two photos of Bruce from the show.

THE DEAD GIRL

Writer-director Karen Moncrieff's psychological drama The Dead Girl revolves around the brutal murder of Krista (Brittany Murphy) -- a drug addict, prostitute and single mom. Her death is the focal point of a number of seemingly unrelated storylines featuring a venerable ensemble cast.

The film is divided into five chapters: "The Stranger," "The Sister," "The Wife," "The Mother" and "The Dead Girl." In "The Stranger," Krista's corpse is discovered by Arden (Toni Collette), a lonesome caretaker living with her nasty old mother (Piper Laurie). Arden forges an unlikely bond with the offbeat Rudy (Giovanni Ribisi).  This chapter leads to "The Sister." Leah (Rose Byrne), a forensics graduate student whose sister went missing as a child, stumbles upon possible closure when Krista's body appears on her gurney. The prospect of finally putting this tragedy behind them affects Leah and her parents (Bruce Davison and Mary Steenburgen) differently, with Leah's mom unwilling to finally accept that her daughter is dead.  In "The Wife," Ruth's (Mary Beth Hurt) love-hate relationship with her husband Carl (Nick Searcy) takes a disturbing turn when she makes a shocking discovery. Is Carl connected to a string of murders? And what will Ruth do about it if he is?  "The Mother" follows Melora (Marcia Gay Harden), Krista's mother who has come to L.A. to investigate her runaway daughter's last days. In the process she meets Krista's fellow prostitute and lover Rosetta (Kerry Washington), and the granddaughter she didn't know she had. The final chapter, "The Dead Girl," recounts how Krista's life came to its fateful end. It features Josh Brolin as one of her johns.

THE DEAD GIRL opened in New York and Los Angeles on Dec. 29, 2006, and in Atlanta, GA on March 23, 2007.  It will be released on DVD from First Look Home Entertainment on May 15, 2007.

BREACH

Breach was released on Feb. 16, 2007 from Universal Pictures.  Click here to view the trailer.

It tells the (inspired by true events) story of a young, low-level surveillance operative who is recruited into the FBI, ostensibly to work in a new division protecting all of the agency's intelligence information, but he soon discovers the boys at the top want him to spy on his boss, who may or may not be a mole. When things inevitably start to go pear-shaped, the young turk must protect himself and his family from the unidentified enemy by "bringing him down".

The young lead will be played by Ryan Phillippe, and the potentially duplicitous boss' shoes are being filled by Chris Cooper. The supporting cast includes Dennis Haysbert, Laura Linney, Gary Cole, Kathleen Quinlan, Bruce Davison, and Mary Jo Deschanel. You may recognise Billy Ray as the writer and director of Shattered Glass. Cinematography will be by Silence Of The Lambs lensman Tak Fujimoto.  Will be released on home video from Universal on June 12, 2007.

CLOSE TO HOME is a legal drama that tears away the facade of suburbia to reveal that sometimes quiet and tranquil streets can hide the darkest of crimes. Annabeth Chase (Jennifer Finnigan) is a young, aggressive prosecutor with a perfect conviction record who tries the cases that come out of her own neighborhood. Returning to work after having her first child, Annabeth is ready to take on the most difficult cases, fueled by her passion to protect her community and her family. Challenging Annabeth's legal strategies is her new boss, Maureen Scofield (Kimberly Elise), a no-nonsense lawyer not afraid to push her hard. Leading the team is Steve Sharpe (John Carroll Lynch), who is one of Annabeth's biggest supporters but is concerned about how her cases will play in the media. Annabeth's husband, Jack (Christian Kane), is devoted to their family and is a rock for her to lean on when the challenges of her job start to infringe on their home life.

Currently, Bruce is filming episodes of CLOSE TO HOME, back in a recurring role as 'Doug Hellman'.  So far this television season, Bruce has appeared in the episodes entitled 'Homecoming', 'A House Divided" "There's Something About Marsha", " A Father's Story" and "Getting in".  Watch for Bruce to be back in the season finale - a three-episode story arc airing this spring.  Check back for more details.

SUNSET BOULEVARD

An all-star cast performed a staged reading of the Billy Wilder film noir classic, in an adaptation by David Rambo, about an aging Hollywood star, complete with Franz Waxman's Academy Award® winning score, live, at The Hollywood Bowl, on Sunday, August 6 at 7:30 PM.

Artists:
Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, John Mauceri - conductor, Peter Hunt - director, Betty Buckley - Norma Desmond, Douglas Sills - Joe Gillis, Len Cariou - Max von Mayerling, J. Todd Adams - Cop, Tom Costello -  Guard, James Cromwell - Sheldrake, Bruce Davison - Morino, Charles Durning - LA Captain, Daisy Egan -  Connie, Fred Forrest - BH Captain, Ted Heyck - onsey, Ken Howard - Repo Man, Alan Johnson - Hog Eye, Jean Louisa Kelly - Betty Schaefer , Tom McGowan - First AD, Conrad John Schuck - Cecil B. DeMille, Hal Sparks - Artie Green, Holland Taylor - Hedda Hopper.

Sunset Boulevard centers around Norma Desmond, a reclusive, aging silent movie star intent on making her comeback with a new film based on Salome--and on holding onto the jaded screenwriter who has come under her influence. The film also won Oscars for art direction and for its screenplay, while star Gloria Swanson was nominated for her performance as Norma; William Holden, Nancy Olson and Erich Von Stroheim co-starred. A musical version--with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, and book and lyrics by Don Black and Christopher Hampton--won the 1995 Tony Award for Best Musical. Originally starring Tony-winner Glenn Close, it also became a star vehicle for an array of leading ladies.

Review:  For the first time ever, a feature film's screenplay was read with a live performance of the entire film score at the Hollywood Bowl. Under the baton of John Mauceri, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra performed Franz Waxman's score to the 1950 film Sunset Boulevard - in its entirety - as a slew of celebrity guests performed a reading of the script to the celebrated feature film.  The evening began with Mauceri describing how the idea of the concert came about, and how - with the help of notable stage director Peter Hunt and playwright David Rambo, they pulled the project together. 2006 marks the centennial for both composer Franz Waxman (1906 - 1967) and director Billy Wilder (1906 - 2002), so it was only fitting that Mauceri timed the concert to take place this summer.  Starring Betty Buckley as faded silent movie star Norma Desmond, Douglas Sills as screenwriter Joe Gillis and Len Cariou as Max von Mayerling, the reading was set up on the stage at the Bowl, with minimal use of props. To enhance the noir feeling of the evening, the video projection (showing close-ups of the actors and orchestra on stage) was displayed in black and white. Running over two-and-a-half hours (with intermission), the show was very enjoyable, with small cameo roles played by such notable actors as Charles Durning, James Cromwell, Hal Sparks, Holland Taylor, Bruce Davison, and more.  When the reading came to a close, Mauceri, the orchestra, and the ensemble cast received a very long standing ovation. It's not an easy thing for an orchestra to play a complete film score in one sitting, but everyone did an excellent job, and it would be great to see more events of this nature created in the future.

Tuesday, Dec. 6
and Wednesday Dec. 7, 2005

O'Bannon (Farscape The Peacekeeper Wars), features stars of film and TV Eric Stoltz, Catherine Bell, Michael Rodgers, Bruce Davison, Lou Diamond Phillips and Sam Neill. Rockne S. O'Bannon wrote the screenplay from an original story by Singer and Devlin and Craig Baxley (Kingdom Hospital, Storm of the Century) directs.  Visit the official website at www.scifi/triangle/.

Set against the mysteries of the Bermuda Triangle, this 3-night, SCI FI Channel Original Miniseries event will focus on a disparate group of professionals, brought together to investigate the dangerous truths behind one of the greatest legends of our time. In 'The Triangle,' billionaire Rice Benirall (Neill) is losing his cargo ships, and their crews, at a frightening pace - and now, he wants answers. His bemused, handpicked team of subject-specific experts include lead skeptic and tabloid journalist Howard Thomas (Stoltz), ocean resource engineer Emily Patterson (Bell), scientist/adventurer Bruce Gellar (Rodgers) and psychic Stan Latham (Davison). Pulled together with the promise of unlimited funding for their research and the chance for once-in-a-lifetime riches, the team sets out to solve this most daunting of puzzles.

When a jetliner disappears over the Triangle, bizarre, unexplainable occurrences begin to affect each member of Benirall's team. When the government takes an alarming interest in their work, our crew is drawn into something far more dangerous than they had believed possible. A research expedition with the promise of riches soon becomes a frantic, head-turning ride through the unstoppable force that is 'The Triangle".

Bruce plays Stan Latham a man with genuine psychic abilities who has been reduced to hawking self-promotional tapes at New Age fairs to make money. Synopsis:

Thousands of hate crimes occur in the United States every day. This is one such story.  Robbie Levinson and Trey McCoy suddenly find themselves dealing with prejudice and hostility as their new neighbor, Chris Boyd, begins to threaten their lives. The two slowly come to realize Chris’ closed-minded ideas, which are fostered by his fundamentalist preacher father Pastor Boyd, are more than a match for their peaceful lives. One evening, Trey sets out on his nightly walk with their dog and never returns. Immediately, fingers are pointed and Chris and Robbie become the prime suspects. With no support from the authorities, Robbie receives help from some unlikely sources to execute a desperate and dangerous plan that uncovers secrets that will turn many lives upside-down and ultimately bring the perpetrator to justice, regardless of the consequences.  A testament to the power of love and the destructive nature of radical religion-based prejudice, Hate Crime is a film by Tommy Stovall, shot entirely on location in Dallas, Texas. Seth Peterson (Providence) stars as Robbie, with Bruce Davison (X-Men 1 & 2, Runaway Jury), Giancarlo Esposito (Usual Suspects, Homicide: Life on the Street), Cindy Pickett (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off), Chad Donella (Final Destination), Susan Blakely (The Towering Inferno), and Lin Shaye (There’s Something About Mary) round out the all-star cast.
